---------------------- www.psychlotron.org.uk ---------------------- Name of resource: Eating disorders - biomedical hypotheses Submitted by: Aidan Sammons Specification details: AQA-A Other specifications: AQA-B, Edexcel Guidance: Aims to help students improve their critical/evaluative skills by thinking about how the general principles of the biomedical model could be tested in the context of eating disorders. Given three of the main underlying ideas of the biomedical approach (genetics, neurochemistry, brain structure) students are invited to consider how evidence could be obtained to test the model. Given the inevitable variation in answers this could be used as a springboard for considering the merits of different types of evidence.
