Guidance: Brief slides looking at cognitive explanations & treatments for schizophrenia.
The first three slides are part of a starter activity 'what's going on inside the black box?'
Aim is to get students thinking about how the cognitive approach explains abnormal behaviour.
Each slide depicts an environmental 'input' and a pathological/irrational 'output'.  Students are
asked to suggest what thought processes would get to the output from the input.  Can also be
asked how the output might be different with a more rational mediational process.
